Oman Fisheries Co. SAOG at the Agricultural, Fisheries and Food Investment Forum

 

Oman Fisheries Co. SAOG participated in the the Agricultural, Fisheries and Food Investment Forum, which was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, on 23rd and 24th January, 2019. The forum was conducted under the patronage of HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, and Personal Representative of His Majesty The Sultan. In this forum, Dr. Khalid Bin Mansour Al Zadjali, CEO of the company, presented the vision of the company in the area of Public-Private Partnership (economic diversification). He spoke about the joint investments with the government, in fishing and marketing of fishery products. Dr. Khalid also covered the implementation and other details of the projects, the existing production facilities in the region and how it will cater to increasing demand and provide adequate food security. Oman Fisheries Co. also participated in an exhibition on the side-lines of the forum.

New Appointments in Omani Fish Company

     

In an effort to enhance operations and productivity, Oman Fisheries Co. S.A.O.G is pleased to announce the following appointments:

*Dr. Jean Vincent Chantreau in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Chantreau holds a doctorate degree in Marine science from University of Caen Normandy – France. He has a vast experience of more than 25 years in Fisheries industries and held top management positions in many countries and served as General Manager in Bioseanergy Company – Mauritius, and Acting CEO in Comoros National Fishing Company SA – Comoros.

*Mr. Hussain Mustafa Mohsin Al Lawati in the capacity of Human Resources Manager. Mr. Hussain is a seasoned HR professional who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and Human Resources Management. He is an Associate member in Chartered Institute of personnel Development, UK. He has more than 12 years of experience in which he held positions of Group Human Resources Manager in Al Sulaimi Group Holding, and Golden Group Holding, and Assistant General Manager – Human Resources in Muscat Finance S.A.O.G.

*Mr. Adeel Imtiaz in the capacity of Head of Internal Audit.  Mr. Adeel Imtiaz is a Professional Accounting Affiliate from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor from the Institute of Internal Auditor (USA). During his career he has been associated with KPMG,Pakistan and various Financial Institutions. He bags an overall experience of 14 years in various positions both in external and Internal Audit.

Oman Fisheries Company has recently attracted a number of Omani competencies in a number of leadership and executive positions in the departments of management, marketing, human resources, procurement, auditing, documentation, media and quality control. The percentage of Omanisation in the company exceeded 40% of the total employees of the company.

Reception of the President of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Oman Fisheries Company

Dr. Khalid bin Mansoor Al Zadjali, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Fisheries Company, received HE Mohsin Zerabi, Chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the Oman Fisheries Company and the Iranian companies specialized in the fish sector. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Omani Fish Company and the Iranian Union for Production and Processing of Fish in Tehran last year.

It is planned that the two sides will soon introduce high-quality, value-added fish products manufactured at the Oman Fisheries Company and marketed in local and overseas markets.
